Tzumu Lin

Specializing in integrated circuit and system design for computer and communication systems, Tzu-Mu Lin gained an MSEE and a doctorate in Computer Science from the California Institute of Technology and has followed a distinguished career in the industry. As Senior Vice President at VIA Technologies, Inc., Mr Lin has guided the development of PC core logic chipsets and overseen VIA's remarkable transition from PC-centric technologies to system and communication platform solutions covering a series of quality and cost-effective system logic, graphics and multimedia, optical storage, networking, wireless and mobile communication technologies and products.

Prior to joining VIA, Mr Lin was c o-founder and Vice President of Design Technology of Symphony Laboratories. He has also held the position of Director of Engineering at GS Technology in charge of ASIC full custom design, as well as Design Manager for Silicon Compiler Systems, where he was a key contributor to the engineering success of the company's VLSI design methodology.

Dirk Meyer
President & Chief Operating Officer, Microprocessor Solutions Sector
Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.


Dirk Meyer is President and Chief Operating Officer of the Microprocessor Solutions Sector at AMD and has overall responsibility for AMD’s microprocessor business, including product development, manufacturing, operations and product marketing. He joined AMD in 1996 as the director of engineering for the AMD Athlon™ microprocessor development program in Austin, Texas. In April 1999, Mr. Meyer was promoted to the position of vice president of engineering for the Computation Products Group. He was appointed to the position of group vice president for the Computation Products Group in January 2001 and became a corporate officer in 2002.

Mr. Meyer came to AMD from Digital Equipment Corporation, where he worked for nearly a decade and was co-architect of the Alpha 21064 and 21264 microprocessors. His microprocessor industry experience includes tenures at not only AMD and Digital but also Intel Corporation. Over the years, he has been involved in the design of x86, Alpha, VAX, and embedded processors.

Mr. Meyer graduated from the University of Illinois, where he received a bachelor's degree in computer engineering. He also received a master's degree in business administration from Boston University.

Dr. F.C. Tseng
Vice Chairman of the Board
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Ltd.


Dr. F.C. Tseng is recently appointed as TSMC's Vice Chairman of the board. Prior to this position, he served as president of TSMC since May 1998, and was the company's senior vice president of operations from 1987 to 1996. In between those roles, Dr. Tseng spent two years as president of Vanguard International Semiconductor Corporation, which was Taiwan 's first 8-inch IC facility.

In 1987, Dr. Tseng led 110 specialists from ITRI's Electronic Research & Service Organization, where he served from 1973 to 1987, and co-founded TSMC as a pioneer specializing in the "foundry only" semiconductor manufacturing business. Dr. Tseng established a solid technical base for TSMC's 6-inch and 8-inch fabs. During his service at ITRI, Dr. Tseng was one of the pioneers in setting up the IC project in Taiwan and was promoted in 1978 as plant manager of the IC demonstration plant, where he was responsible for production and development. He established the capability to develop an advanced CMOS process.

Dr. Tseng holds a doctorate in electrical engineering from National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan , and he was named one of the "Ten Outstanding Engineers" by the Chinese Institute of Engineers in 1991.


Albert E. Sisto
Chairman, President & Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Sisto joined the Company as President and Chief Executive Officer and was appointed to the Board in June 1999. He was elected Chairman of the Board in January 2000.

Mr. Sisto was formerly Chief Operating Officer of RSA Data Security, Inc. from 1997 to 1999. He served as President, Chairman and CEO of DocuMagix from 1994 to 1997. From 1989 to 1994 Mr. Sisto served as the President and CEO of PixelCraft, Inc.

Mr. Sisto has also served in executive management roles at MIPS Technologies, Relational Technologies (INGRES), Intel, Honeywell, and General Electric. Mr. Sisto serves on the Boards of Directors of Hi/fn Inc., a semiconductor components company, and Tekgraf, a graphic arts distribution and service company.

Mr. Sisto earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the Stevens Institute of Technology.

Ryoichi Yanai

Ryoichi Yanai is currently President of Elpida Memory ( Taiwan ) Co., Ltd. that is responsible for sales and marketing for Taiwan market. He graduated from Keio University of Tokyo, Japan and joined NEC Corporation in 1980.

Mr Yanai had worked at NEC for 20 years for overseas sales and marketing of Semiconductors (U-Com, ASIC, Memory etc) and Passive components including working experience at NEC Electronics Singapore. He also joined special project to set up a joint-venture company to handle DRAM business between NEC and Hitachi in 2000.

Mr Yanai became the 1st Managing Director of Elpida Memory (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. in Nov 2000 and became President of Elpida Memory ( Taiwan ) Co., Ltd. from Aug 2002.

Robert Wise

Mr. Wise joined Phoenix in February 2004 as Director, Product Marketing and assumed the responsibilities of Vice President, Product Marketing in November of 2004. While at the company Mr. Wise has assembled a world-class team around the Core System Software products to innovate and build on Phoenix 's mainstay products. More recently, Mr. Wise took on the product marketing executive role across all product groups.

Prior to joining Phoenix , Mr. Wise was Director of Product Marketing at Maxtor where he aligned product roadmaps and drove revenues for the ATA and Serial ATA disk drive products resulting in $3.5B world wide annual revenues. Before this, Mr. Wise served as Vice President of Marketing at ThinkPulse a software start-up focused on the smart card industry; as Director of Marketing and Product Marketing at Secure Computing, where he managed sales, product objectives and corporate strategy across all product lines; as Director Product Marketing and Product Manager for Meridian Data (now subsidiary of Adaptec), focusing on planning and managing market branding efforts for the network storage servers and packaged software brands.

Mr. Wise holds a bachelor's degree in engineering from Princeton University.

Rob Enderle is President and Principal Analyst of the Enderle Group, a forward looking emerging technology advisory firm. Eric Chang

Eric Chang is Special Assistant to the President and Strategic Marketing Director of VIA Technologies, Inc., with a primary focus on market and product development in server and storage applications. Mr. Chang re-joined VIA this year from RedSwitch Inc., a startup company with InfiniBand products and advanced switch technology, where he served as Vice President of Marketing. From 1997-2001, Mr. Chang worked as the Strategic Marketing Director at VIA as PC133/DDR program evangelist.

Prior to joining VIA, Mr. Chang had 10 years experience in PC system design and chipset architecture at Intel Corp., and held various marketing positions at S3 Inc. and ESS Technologies. Mr. Chang has been a pioneer of SMA architecture since 1996 and successfully brought several VIA SMA products to market. Mr. Chang has a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering and Product Design from North Carolina State University.

Kevin Owen

Kevin Owen is manager of the Mobile Business Development team within AMD's Microprocessor Business Unit. In this role, Mr. Owen directs a global team that is responsible for developing customer and partner relationships for AMD's notebook processor business worldwide.

Mr. Owen has 25 years of experience in the computer industry and related high-tech markets. Prior to joining AMD, Mr. Owen held various management positions at Motorola, including market development for leading-edge technologies such as processors for the first Palm PDA and the first commercially available Bluetooth radios.

Furthermore, Mr. Owen has worked to develop and market software and hardware products for such companies as Data General, Hughes Aircraft and Lockheed.

Mr. Owen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Central Michigan University.

C.J. Holthaus is currently Director of System Validation at Centaur Technology and manages post-silicon verification and worldwide infrastructure for the company. He is responsible for all compatibility testing, BIOS and motherboard infrastructure, and performance analysis. Prior to joining Centaur, Mr. Holthaus was a verification engineer for Dell Computer Corporation.

Mr. Holthaus received a B.S. engineering degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Dr Gerry (Shao-Hung) Liu is currently vice president of marketing and chief financial officer of S3 Graphics, an affiliate company of VIA Technologies. Dr. Liu has been previously president of Trident Microsystems Videographics Division and co-managed its venture investment fund. Formerly a two-time entrepreneur prior to joining Trident through its acquisition of Omega Micro, Dr. Liu had been founder and president of two venture-backed companies Knights Technology developing deep-submicron yield enhancement software and Omega Micro for mobile IC design, which were separately acquired by Electroglas (1997) and Trident (1996).

Dr. Liu was a board member of Monte Jade Science and Technology Association, general chair of Sino-American Technology and Engineering Conference, past president and chairman of Chinese Institute of Engineers/ USA and a founding board member and past vice president of Chinese Software Processional Association.

Dr. Liu received his PhD in Computer Science from UC Berkeley, MSCS from University of Illinois , Chicago , and BSEE from National Taiwan University.

Wayne Chang is the founder of AceGain, Inc., and has served as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Software Architect since the inception of the Company. Chewei Lin

Chewei Lin has played a key role at VIA Technologies, Inc. in the implementation of DRAM memory support in chipsets and overseeing the industry transition from PC133 to DDR memory standards. As Vice President of Product Marketing, he is responsible for the aggressive product development of chipsets, including the integration of key communications and multimedia technologies. Prior to his career at VIA, Chewei was an Asic engineer at DTK Computer for two years. Chewei gained his Masters in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia , and celebrated his tenth year at VIA in April 2003.

Charles Mitchell

Charles Mitchell is a product strategy manager for Desktop Technical Marketing at AMD. He develops market requirements for AMD's future desktop microprocessors. He has held a number of strategic and technical marketing positions within AMD since joining the company in February 1995. Mitchell holds multiple patents on the voltage and frequency shifting methodology in AMD's Cool 'n' Quiet™ and PowerNow™ technologies.

Before joining AMD he was vice president of marketing for IPC Austin, the USA branch of Singapore's PC manufacturer IPC Technology. Previously, Mitchell spent three years at Dell Computer Corporation as senior project manager where he managed the development of Dell's first multiprocessor workstation and server systems, and Dell's first notebook PC. Prior to that Mitchell served in a variety of executive positions at Palantir Software, Galleria Medical Systems, and Computer Centers of America. He also served as a research coordinator for six years at the University of Texas Medical Center in Houston.

Mitchell earned a masters degree in biomedical engineering and a bachelors degree in electrical engineering, both from the University of Houston.

Desi Rhoden

Desi Rhoden serves as Executive Vice President at Inphi Corporation (Think Fast), a company focused on high performance analog devices including Registers, PLLs, Advanced Memory Buffers, and Ultra High Performance Communication Devices. Mr. Rhoden is also President & CEO of Brite Sun Technology Inc., bringing technology and technology companies together.

Mr. Rhoden is Chairman of the JC-42 Memory Committee and the past Chairman of the Board for JEDEC, the world leader in standards and technology development for the semiconductor industry. He also serves on the EIA (Electronic Industries Alliance) Board of Governors where he represents JEDEC. Previously, Mr. Rhoden was President/CEO of Advanced Memory International Inc. (AMI2), focused on the coordination and promotion of standard memory technologies and the infrastructure required by the memory industry. Prior to AMI2, Mr. Rhoden was a Fellow at VLSI Technology where he also held several management positions. Prior to joining VLSI, he was a Scientist at Hewlett Packard.

Ken Weng

Ken has recently joined S3 Graphics to bring this industry pioneer back to the forefront of the graphics process business. Starting out as Senior Computer Architect for mainframes at Amdahl, he moved to Dialogics as Consulting Engineer working on fault-tolerant multiprocessors.

Mr. Weng was instrumental in the chipset dominance of Chips and Technology in the 1980s, and successfully developed a fully compatible 80386 processor in the early 1990s. In the mid-‘90s, Ken was Project Director at SGI during the development of the first generation Nintendo 3D game console. More recently, he has been involved in two start-ups: Acorn Networks and Silicon Magic, developing network processors and embedded DRAM respectively.

Dr. C.C. Jay Kuo

Since January 1989, Dr. Kuo has been with the Department of Electrical Engineering and the Signal and Image Processing Institute at the University of Southern California, where he currently has a joint appointment as Professor of Electrical Engineering and Mathematics. His research interests are in the areas of digital signal and image processing, audio and video coding, media communication technologies and delivery protocols. Dr. Kuo has guided 60 students to their Ph.D. degrees. He is a co-author of more than 700 technical publications in international conferences and journals. Dr. Kuo received the National Science Foundation Young Investigator Award (NYI) and Presidential Faculty Fellow (PFF) Award in 1992 and 1993, respectively. He is also a Fellow of IEEE and SPIE. Dr. Kuo is Chief Scientist of InterVideo, Inc.

Dr. C.C. Jay Kuo received the B.S. degree from the National Taiwan University, Taipei, in 1980 and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, in 1985 and 1987, respectively, all in Electrical Engineering.

He is a National Policy Advisor to the President, and currently also holds the position of Board Director of the National Applied Research Laboratory, as well as Supervisory Director of both the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) and the Taiwanese Society of International Law. Dr. Huang graduated from National Cheng-Kung University in Taiwan , and obtained an MSc and DIC from Imperial College , University of London , and a PhD from the University of Wales .

Richard Brown is Associate Vice President of Marketing for VIA Technologies, Inc. Mr. Brown joined VIA in 1999 and has been a key architect in VIA's marketing strategy in transitioning from a core logic chipset design house to leading provider of PC silicon chip technologies and PC platform solutions.

A native of the UK, Mr. Brown has spent the past 14 years living and working in Taiwan. Prior to joining VIA, Mr. Brown served in various management positions at First International Computer (FIC) and Leo Systems, Inc., where he was Director of Marketing.  Dr. Ashok Jhunjhunwala

Dr. Ashok Jhunjhunwala is Professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai, India. He achieved a B.Tech degree through IIT, Kanpur, and his MS and Ph.D degrees from the University of Maine. From 1979 to 1981, he was with the Washington State University as an Assistant Professor and has been teaching at IIT, Madras since.

Dr. Jhunjhunwala leads the Telecommunications and Computer Networks group (TeNeT) at IIT Madras. The group is closely working with the industry in the development of Telecommunications and Computer Network Systems and has incubated a number of technology companies working in partnership for the development of world class Telecom Access products. TeNet has also dedicated a company, aiming to install and operate telecommunications and Internet in every village in India.

Dr. Jhunjhunwala has been bestowed a number of awards, including the Padma Shri and the H.K. Firodia for “Excellence in Science & Technology” in 2002 and the Millennium Medal at the India Science Congress in 2000. He is a Fellow of INAE, INSA and NAS, a member of the Prime Minister Scientific Advisory Committee and a board member of several Telecom and IT companies in India.

Professor Jitendra Nandkumar Shah

Professor Jitendra Nandkumar Shah is a Senior Software Specialist and the Centre for Development of Advanced Computers in India since 2004. Prior to his current position, he was a Senior Lecturer and Head of Department at Polytechnic at the VJTI. Prof. Shah was also previously employed by the IIT, Bombay, Garware Plastics and IBM World Trade Corporation in Bombay.

Prof. Shah is a member of the Expert Committee of Computerisation and Government of Maharashtra, and Convenor of the IndicTrans team, a non-commercial, non-profit software group that developed Marathi, Gujarati and Hindi interfaces, fonts and educational software in the Gnubhaaratii format.

Prof. Shah has conducted a variety of software projects including grid generation, database management, software program management and established the ATC, Boreland software and initiated the Free Software Indian Language project (Gnubhaaratti) at VJTI and later moved it to C-DAC Mumbai.

Prof. Shah qualified with a B.Tech in Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering from the IIT, Bombay in 1973 and obtained his ME Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bombay in 1986.

Dr. Wen-Jean Hsueh

Dr. Wen-Jean Hsueh co-founded the Creativity Laboratory at Taiwan's Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) in March of 2004, and has since served as its General Director. Before assuming her current post, she was the Director of Digital Imaging Technology at ITRI's Opto-Electronics & Systems Labs. She directed programs in 3D scanning, modeling, animation, and digital color video imaging with applications and services to a variety of industrial sectors. Her leadership in the 3D camera and display program won her the Outstanding Innovator Award at ITRI in 2001.

Dr. Hsueh received her PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering at the California Institute of Technology in 1993. She then served on the technical staff at the General Electric Corporate R&D until 1996, before she returned to her native Taiwan. She has since been participating in the planning and execution of ITRI's advanced R&D activities with emphasis on international and cross-disciplinary collaborations.

Steven S. Lee

As Special Assistant to the President at VIA, Steven Lee is responsible for both VNT and VEPD of VIA's platform strategy as the PC transitions to new markets.

Steven trained as an engineer in both materials science and electronic engineering, gaining a Ph.D and D.Eng in Engineering from UCLA. Prior to joining VIA, Steven worked for over ten years at AT&T/NCR Microelectronics Division in various managerial positions, before moving to Applied Materials in Santa Clara as Corporate Marketing Director, followed by over four years at Lam Research as Executive Deputy Managing Director. Steven joined VIA in November 2002.

Warren Kressinger-Dunn

Warren Kressinger-Dunn is the Director of Design and Development for Trident and holds overall responsibility for the operation and continued growth of Trident's custom design and manufacturing division.

He has an extensive background in product development and management with special emphasis on embedded systems and specialist displays. Mr Kressinger-Dunn began his career as an officer in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers before moving to the semiconductor industry in 1987, and has an academic background in Electronic Engineering and Business Studies.

Within his time at Trident, Mr Kressinger-Dunn has been responsible for the creation and growth of the custom design and manufacturing division, which has gone from strength to strength. More recently, he has managed key product developments including the development of the ZEVO smart terminal, Trident's new, versatile smart terminal range which has been deployed in a number of applications, and the Cabvision project, which combines the latest screen and computer technology to create mobile 'broadcast style' media within London taxis.

Steve Dearden is responsible for all customer facing activities at General Software, including sales, marketing and customer support. He has held various leadership roles in sales and marketing both in the United States and in Europe and has over 23 years of experience in the embedded systems tools and software industry.

Prior to joining General Software, Mr. Dearden was Vice President of Marketing for Applied Microsystems Corporation before the acquisition of the embedded tools lines by Motorola (Freescale). While at Applied Microsystems, he also created and grew a successful consulting services business and spent 4 years managing sales for the Western United States. He has also held sales and marketing positions at Gould Inc. Mr. Dearden has B.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from Reading University in England.

With over 24 years experience in the IT industry, Michael Wang is CSO at iBase Technology responsible for global business development. He started out at Qume, an ITT company, as Industrial Engineer and Product Manager for the IBM floppy disk drive and digital printer product groups. Then he moved to Liteon Group, first as Material Manager and later Material Director, before moving to Liteon's subsidiary Silitek as Head of the New Product Development Division. In 1998, he joined Advantech, a leading IPC company, with responsibility for Overseas Service Centres, and establishing global branch offices of the Peripheral Products Division. Michael graduated with a degree in Industrial Engineering from SinPu Technology College , and studied Management at Chung-Yuan Christian University.

Lead Program Manager in Microsoft Windows division Hardware Experience and Emerging Market Group. Mr. Zhang is responsible for evangelizing next generation Windows hardware features, driving innovations to Asia Pacific hardware partners, and ensuring Windows emerging market hardware readiness.

Simon has 18 years experience on software development, IT management, hardware innovations, and industry relationship management. He has been with Microsoft for 9 years in Visual Studio, Windows Base OS, and hardware group. Simon received his undergraduate degree in Beijing and postgraduate degree in Canada.
