VIA pc1000The VIA pc1500 Platform combines the enhanced performance and built-in security features of the VIA C3® processor with the VIA CLE266 digital media chipset to provide an energy-efficient, feature-rich solution optimized for emerging market systems.

Fully compatible with Microsoft® Windows® XP/2K/CE and Linux operating systems, the VIA pc1500 Platform is the most cost-effective processor platform on the market, with proven reliability to deliver all the necessary performance for running applications while maintaining low levels of power consumption and effective heat dissipation.

VIA C3 Processor

VIA C3The power saving VIA C3 processor based on the efficient VIA CoolStream™ architecture delivers 1GHz+ performance and integrates a rich feature set within the StepAhead™ Technology Suite, including advanced branch prediction, an efficiency-enhanced 128KB Level 1 and 64KB Level 2 cache, full-speed FPU and multimedia extensions for robust performance across the most popular productivity, education, Internet, and entertainment applications. The integrated VIA PadLock Security Engine supports military-grade AES encryption and a quantum RNG.

VIA CLE266 Digital Media Chipset

VIA C3The advanced VIA CLE266 digital media chipset boasts the VIA UniChrome™ IGP (Integrated Graphics Processor) 2D/3D graphics core, a built-in hardware MPEG-2 accelerator for smooth DVD playback, video scaling, motion compensation and an AGP8X interface, as well as VIA Vinyl 6-channel AC’97 Audio for a rich surround sound experience.

Extended Connectivity

Through the VIA VT8235 South Bridge, the VIA pc1500 Platform provides support for up to 2GB of higher bandwidth DDR266 SDRAM memory, dual ATA-133 IDE drives, six USB 2.0 ports, 6 PCI slots for system expansion and 10/100 Fast Ethernet for broadband networking. Display flexibility includes DuoView™ supporting dual CRT, LCD or TV displays for enhanced productivity, two video capture ports, and picture-in-picture functionality for multi-channel capability.

Designed for Power Efficiency

Low power draw is critical in many emerging market implementations, especially in rural areas, so it is vital that computing technologies consume minimal power. With a maximum power draw of just 15 watts and idle power as low as 1.6 watts, the VIA C3 processor leads the way with its extremely efficient design: the chart shows that the VIA C3 processor is designed to consume 82% less power than competing processors targeted at the same market segment.
