VIA pc3500 Mainboard
Based around the highly-integrated and low power VIA pc3500 platform, the VIA pc3500 mainboard provides a flexible and feature-rich solution for building energy-efficient PCs featuring the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system. Designed to support a choice of 1.5GHz and 1.8GHz VIA C7-D processors, the board integrates the VIA CN896 digital media IGP chipset and comes with an additional PCI Express x16 slot for easy expansion. The board also supports a host of leading memory, multimedia, connectivity and storage technologies, including up to 2GB 400/533/667MHz DDR2 SDRAM, DirectXTM 9.0, four USB 2.0 ports, two SATA II/PATA connectors, 10/100 Ethernet, and eight channel onboard audio, and in addition to being Windows Vista certified is fully compatible with Microsoft Windows XP and a wide range of Linux distributions.
With its low power design, the VIA pc3500 mainboard enables OEMs and System Integrators to build Windows Vista PCs that comfortably meeting the latest Energy Star requirements for a Category A system, as summarized in the table below.
