Description

The VIA Vinyl Envy24-II Audio Controller is a professional-grade, versatile, multi-channel I/O PCI controller designed to satisfy the most exacting demands of any recording professional or prosumer. Supporting up to 32-bit resolution and 192kHZ sampling rates for both analog and digital connections, the VIA Envy24-II offers the most exquisite level of audio fidelity available to the PC. For achieving the ultra-low latency rates required for real-time recording and monitoring, the VIA Envy24-II has a flexible DMA Architecture with buffers that have been optimized for ASIO support. Additionally, high performance monitoring and routing is ensured with a 32-channel 32-bit wide digital mixer.

The VIA Envy24-II’s 16-channel inputs and outputs, in selectable I²S or AC-Link formats with support for stereo S/PDIF input and output, allow for tremendous versatility that can meet a robust range of connection and performance requirements. Also integrated into the controller is a S/PDIF transmitter with IEC958 line driver, enabling the VIA Envy24-II to directly transfer digital audio to external digital audio interfaces through PCM, DTS, and AC3 protocols. Hardware encryption is provided for playback of new audio formats, including DVD-Audio.

Designed to have maximum flexibility for system integration, the VIA Envy24-II includes a 10-port GPIO, includes an SPI port for peripherals controls, allows for up to four I2C ports, and can be combined with professional grade I²S converters, S/PDIF transmitters/receivers, and AC-link codecs. Two MIDI UART ports are also provided, which allow for easy connections to keyboards and other external sound devices.

The VIA Envy24-II is ideal for applications such as professional high-end audio creation and playback, discrete multi-channel audio, general purpose multi-channel I/O, and PC-based multi-track audio, data acquisition, waveform generation, or instrumentation.
