The advanced FastStream64 DDR400 Memory Controller on the VIA Apollo KT600 interweaves with the 400MHz Front Side Bus to provide a perfectly balanced subsystem, greatly reducing data latency and enabling searing performance from the latest AMD Athlon™ XP processors. In addition, the KT600 supports AGP8X, deriving maximum performance from the most powerful graphics processors.

Featuring the VIA DriveStation™ Advanced Connectivity Suite, the VIA VT8237R Plus South Bridge provides the most comprehensive set of high-performance integrated storage interface technologies available on the market today. In addition to enabling high-speed 150MB/s dual channel connections to Serial ATA Hard Drives while retaining support for up to four Parallel ATA-133 devices, it combines exceptionally fast disk data transfer rates and optimal data integrity with easy installation and manageability through V-RAID, the first native RAID controller integrated into a South Bridge supporting multiple RAID Level 0, RAID Level 1, and RAID Level 0+1 configurations. The VT8237R Plus also features the VIA Vinyl™ Multichannel Audio Suite for superlative integrated and onboard 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound, and offers a host of high-bandwidth connectivity options, including support for up to eight high-speed USB 2.0 ports and 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet. The VIA Apollo KT600 also benefits from the VIA Hyperion 4in1 Drivers, which deliver seamless compatibility with all the latest software and hardware.

FastStream64 Technology
VIA FastStream64™ Technology uses an expanded array of prefetch buffers to reduce latency in the memory controller, extending performance at a lower transistor cost than dual channel implementations. With a 266/333/400MHz processor bus and supporting DDR266/333/400 memory, the VIA Apollo KT600 provides lightning fast access to system memory and can reach a peak bandwidth of 3.2GB/sec, enabling the full performance potential of the fastest AMD Athlon™ XP processors to be harnessed.

The six-channel surround sound supported in the VT8235 and VT8237R Plus South Bridges, combined with the high quality VIA Vinyl Six-TRAC external codec with advanced Stylus driver support, enables a rich, vibrant sound that will enhance the user experience when listening to music, watching movies, or playing games.

Native Serial ATA/RAID Support
The VIA VT8237R Plus is the latest in a series of market leading South Bridge chips from VIA integrating state of the art I/O innovation. With its native dual channel Serial ATA controller, the VT8237R Plus provides direct support for two Serial ATA devices at a bandwidth of 150MB/s per port and its unique SATAlite™ interface expands support for two additional SATA devices through an optional external Serial ATA PHY. Featuring support for RAID 0, RAID 1, and RAID 0+1, the native VIA RAID controller optimizes system performance by ensuring the highest disk data transfer rates and provides the most advanced fault tolerant solution for optimum data integrity. It also comes with a user friendly software configuration program for easy disk array set up in all the latest Microsoft® Windows® and Linux environments, and supports both Serial ATA and Parallel ATA standards.

Unified VIA Hyperion 4in1 Drivers
VIA's unified approach to drivers has been established for eight generations of chipsets, allowing end users to benefit from seamless hardware and software compatibility.
