Featuring a new asynchronous bus architecture for greater system tuning options, the VIA K8T800 Pro chipset is optimized for the latest AMD Athlon™ 64, Athlon 64 FX and Opteron processors, pushing performance of 64-bit capable Performance Desktop PCs and Workstations to new levels.

Utilizing VIA's unique Hyper8 technology, the VIA K8T800 Pro features a high bandwidth HyperTransport processor-to-chipset link, which ensures all AMD64 processor-based systems achieve their full performance potential, and provides headroom to support forthcoming versions of AMD64 processors.

The asynchronous bus architecture of VIA K8T800 Pro enables the AGP and PCI buses to be locked if the system's front side bus or clock multiplier are adjusted for faster system performance, allowing power users to squeeze the very most out of their AMD64 processor based system.

In combination with the VIA VT8237R Plus South Bridge, featuring the advanced VIA DriveStation™ Controller Suite, the VIA K8T800 Pro enables the most comprehensive range of high-performance integrated storage and cutting edge multimedia technologies available on the AMD64 platform today. In addition to enabling high-speed 150MB/s dual channel connections to Serial ATA Hard Drives while retaining support for up to four Parallel ATA-133 devices, it combines exceptionally fast disk data transfer rates and optimal data integrity with easy installation and manageability through V-RAID, a revolutionary native RAID controller integrated into the South Bridge with support for multiple RAID configurations.

The VT8237R Plus also supports the VIA Vinyl Multichannel Audio Suite, for superlative 6-channel or 8-channel immersion audio support, while the VIA Advanced Connectivity Suite offers a host of high-bandwidth connectivity options, including support for the VIA Velocity™ Gigabit Ethernet companion controller, integrated 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet and up to eight high-speed USB 2.0 ports.

As part of VIA's unique Modular Architecture Platform (V-MAP), the K8T800 Pro features the high-throughput Ultra V-Link bus, which links the chipset's North and South Bridges at speeds of up to 1066MB/s, and minimizes design times and time-to-market for motherboard partners through a flexible, pin-compatible design approach for VIA core-logic solutions. Motherboard partners are able to cover multiple market segments with fewer design resources, and also benefit from a single unified driver base.

Ultra V-Link Bus
Delivering data throughput speeds of up to 1066 MB/s from the VIA VT8237R Plus South Bridge to the VIA K8T800 Pro North Bridge, the Ultra V-Link interface delivers the necessary bandwidth and low latency required by today's increasingly demanding multimedia applications. Not only does Ultra V-Link speed up data transfer rates, it also addresses potential bottlenecks on the South Bridge that may be created by the growing use of high-speed USB2.0 and 1394 peripherals.

The V-RAID controller features native RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 0+1 and JBOD, ensuring optimum data integrity and system performance. The user-friendly V-RAID software interface enables easy disk array configuration and management.

VIA Vinyl Multichannel Audio Suite
Delivering rich, warm surround sound at resolutions as high as 24/96 through up to six or eight-channel outputs, the VIA Vinyl Audio and VIA Vinyl Gold Audio enable crisp, clear performance, representing the highest levels of audio quality in a mainstream integrated or onboard solution.
