VIA VX800 and Vista
The VX800 chipset has been awarded the Windows Vista Basic logo. The testing involved in the certification process guarantees a reliable and trouble free installation and usage of the Ultimate, Enterprise, Business, Home Premium and Home Basic editions of Microsoft Windows Vista.

The VIA VX800 media system processor is an all-in-one, highly integrated digital media IGP chipset featuring the latest video, graphics and connectivity performance in a single chip measuring just 33x33mm.

Targeted at the full-featured and thin & light notebook, mini and green PC and high performance embedded system markets, the VIA VX800 brings high quality graphics, video and memory performance to ultra compact x86 systems, including Microsoft® DirectX® 9.0 3D graphics, high definition video and audio playback, and support for up to 4GB of DDR2 system memory.

The VIA VX800 all-in-one digital media IGP chipset supports both current VIA C7, VIA C7-M and VIA Eden processors and also upcoming processors based on the VIA Isaiah Architecture, ensuring vendors can offer a broader range of performance and price points utilizing the same platform infrastructure.

The VIA VX800 integrates all the cutting-edge features of a modern chipset's North and South bridges into a single chip package that saves over 42% of silicon real estate over standard twin-chip core logic implementations. This miniaturization, combined with the maximum power consumption (TDP max) of just 5 watts and extensive power management technologies, enables system builders to design ever smaller, lighter, more portable systems.

A catalyst for x86 system design innovation, the VIA VX800 integrates extensive multimedia and connectivity technologies, plus support for Microsoft® Windows Vista™, Windows XP/CE and Linux, for greater flexibility and applicability to a wide spectrum of established, growing and new x86 market segments.
