Tech FAQ
Q: Are there any special needs for the SPS to support Pentium 4 mainboard ?
A:

According to Intel specifications, yes, you may need to have the more current( Ampere ) for 12V to supply Pentium 4 such as the square 4-pin connector on mainboard- this is reserved for 12V power source.

Q: What kinds of AGP cards can I use?
A:

VIA P4X266A chipset did support both 1.5v and 3.3vAGP cards that will support All of AGP4X, AGP2X, and so forth. Thus, this universal AGP slot on mainboard doesn't have the additional notched area.

Q: How do I install the VIA 4-in-1 drivers?
A:

VIA provides the standard 4in1 driver bundling with all P4X266A chipset Mainboard that shall consists of the chipset information, IRQ-tuned for Win98, VxD for AGP and IDE driver. Whatsoever, when you complete your OS Installation, please simply depress enter to complete the 4-in-one drive install Since it shall automatically detect the OS type and prompt the right/default Selection and wait for enter.

Q: What RAID is supported using the P4XB-RA?
A:

Q: How to upgrade the BIOS?
A:

1. Make a bootable system 3.5" diskette.
2. Then copy the flash utility (eg. awfl818.exe) and the new BIOS file (eg. P4XBSOLI.BIN) onto this diskette. The latest BIOS update and flash utility can be downloaded from www.viavpsd.com for your specific product.
3. Boot the computer using this diskette.
4. At the A:> prompt type awfl818.exe (file name).BIN.

You can find out additional parameters of the flash program by type "awfl818/?". This will cause the flash utility to load and automatically use the new file. Just follow the prompts that you see on the screen. When you are through, reboot your computer. Please load the optimized default settings in the BIOS.

WARNING!! During the final flash process, power should not be disconnected and the process should not be interrupted or the motherboard will not be able to boot up.
