The VIA Tahoe product family comprises single chip Fast
Ethernet Physical Layer and Transceiver solutions that
interface to a Media Access Controller (MAC) through an
MII interface ensuring the easy implementation of 10/100
Mbps Fast Ethernet LANs and full interoperability between
products from different vendors, making it suitable for
a wide range of consumer and commercial applications.
The VIA Tahoe dual-speed PHY/Transceivers support up
to 8 ports configured to 10Base-T, 100Base-TX and 100Base-FX
devices with full auto-negotiation and meet all applicable
IEEE 802.3 standards. These VLSI devices operate at full
or half duplex, and the on-chip wave shaping means that
no external filters are required.
