Description
Certified by the USB Implementers Forum for Hi-Speed
Low Power USB2.0 operation, the VIA Vectro VT6205 is
the first USB2.0 to 9-in-1 flash card reader controller
to be granted this globally recognized certification.
The VIA Vectro VT6205 transfers data at speeds of up
to 480Mbps, while maintaining very low operating power
consumption of less than 100mA and configuration power
of only 60mA. Through its low power architecture and
advanced CMOS 0.22µm process technology, VIA has minimized
the power consumption of the VIA Vectro VT6205 by more
than 80% of the maximum allowable power for USB peripherals,
making it the ideal solution for flash card readers
to be used with PCs and mobile systems, ensuring reliability
in power sensitive applications and saving battery life
of notebooks.
Compliant with USB Specification Revision 2.0 and with
the UTMI (USB2.0 Transceiver Macrocell Interface) Specification,
the VIA Vectro VT6205 utilizes the exceptional bandwidth
of USB2.0 to support a wide range of flash media use
with digital devices such as digital cameras, MP3 players
and PDA's.
The VIA Vectro VT6205 allows for dynamic attach and
re-attach to the USB bus to allow hot-swap of devices.
The External Serial (EEPROM) Interface enables memory
retention and supports serial number, vendor number,
product ID and miscellaneous storage.
The VIA Vectro VT6205 is widely supported by most of
the existing operating systems, including Microsoft®
Windows® XP, Windows 2000, Windows ME, Windows 98, Windows
98SE, Mac OS 9.x, Mac OS X, and the Linux kernel 2.4.0
and future versions.
