Secure Mobility with the VIA PadLock Security Engine |
The unprecedented increase in PC networking and Internet-based
commerce has led to growing concerns about corporate and
personal information security. Information can be kept
secure by means of encryption; an attacker must decipher
the key to perform the decryption and compromise the information
security of any computer or network. Such keys are created
by Random Number Generators (RNG), and the more random
a number is, the more secure that key or password becomes.
The cryptography is carried out through complex algorithms,
such as the US government approved Advanced Encryption
Standard (AES), that require a huge amount of processing
power when carried out through software programs.
The world's fastest x86 security engine, VIA
PadLock Security Engine¹ is integrated
into the VIA C3®-M processor and features
the VIA PadLock RNG and the VIA PadLock ACE (Advanced Cryptography
Engine) for military-grade AES encryption and decryption. These features
are hardware-based, delivering higher performance and quality
of security operations within software programs with minimal
draw on system resources.
