VIA Eden ESP Processor - Raising the Performance Bar for Fanless Processors

With its fanless operation, the VIA Eden™ ESP processor targets a myriad of embedded computing and Personal Electronics devices that require ultra low power consumption, rock solid reliability and compatibility with standard x86 operating systems and software applications. VIA Eden ESP processors are available with a diverse range of feature sets that enable PC functionality and connectivity from traditionally single function devices.


Digital Media Performance for Personal Electronics Devices

VIA Eden ESP employ the advanced VIA CoolStream™ architecture that is packed with digital media performance features, including support for sixteen pipeline stages, SSE multimedia instructions, StepAhead™ Advanced Branch Prediction, an efficiency- enhanced 64KB Full-Speed Exclusive L2 cache with 16-way associativity, and a full-speed FPU.

When coupled with the VIA CN400 digital media chipset, the VIA Eden ESP processors delivers exceptional performance for all the most critical entertainment, data streaming, Internet and productivity applications, including MPEG4 and MPEG2 video playback, MP3 audio playback, Voice over IP and video conferencing applications, multimedia slideshows and web browsing.

Together with the VIA Eden ESP, the VIA CN400 chipset provides the ultimate low power digital media platform through additional support for DDR400/333/266, USB 2.0, TV-out, VIA Vinyl Audio 5.1 surround sound and integrated networking that is highly suited to cool, quiet and low profile digital media or communication devices.


World's Fastest x86 Security Engine

To address the growing need among corporate, government, and home users to protect sensitive data on their connected devices, VIA Eden ESP processors based on the C5P Nehemiah core incorporate the VIA PadLock Security Engine¹ featuring the VIA PadLock ACE (Advanced Cryptography Engine) for US government-approved Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) cryptography, and the quantum-based VIA PadLock RNG (Random Number Generator) for generating high quality entropy.

Security applications that leverage the military-grade capabilities of the VIA PadLock Security Engine can be deployed quickly and easily across a broad range of devices including PCs, thin clients, set top boxes, home digital entertainment centers, point of sale terminals, and intelligent network routers in a wide variety of wired and wireless networking environments.
