VIA EPIA M10000 Mainboard Powers Two New Innovative
1U Rack Mounting Industrial PC Systems From ICPs
First 1U rack mount enclosures based on feature rich
VIA EPIA M10000 Mini-ITX mainboard become available
from ICP
Taipei, Taiwan, 8 December 2003 - VIA Technologies,
Inc, a leading innovator and developer of silicon chip
technologies and PC platform solutions, and Industrial
Computer Products (ICP), a leading industrial computer
products manufacturer, today announced two new 1U x
19" rack mounting industrial PCs based on the highly
integrated VIA EPIA M10000 Mini-ITX mainboard.
"ICP is providing our customers with a considerable
competitive edge that can be extended to a variety of
embedded, server and industrial PC applications by being
the first to integrate the VIA EPIA M10000 into a 1U
rack mount enclosure," said Kevan Wells, Project

of the Rack-1U systems makes it possible for the user
to place two systems back to back in a single 1U rack,
effectively doubling the performance and connectivity
benefits of the VIA EPIA M10000 without requiring twice
the rack space."
The Rack-1U 360 and Rack-1U 200 from ICP are the first
1U rack enclosures on the market to house the highly
integrated VIA EPIA M10000 mainboard, providing the
user with a fully-featured, compact and highly efficient
1GHz system with up to 1GB of DDR memory, integrated
64MB AGP graphics, hardware MPEG-2 decoder, 10/100 Fast
Ethernet LAN, four USB 2.0 ports, two IEEE1394 (Firewire)
ports, and a PCI expansion slot.

The Rack-1U 360 has mounting provision for two 5.25"
drive bays and allows for a removable disk drive in
addition to both CD and floppy disk drives to be accommodated
in a 1U enclosure measuring only 431mm x 360mm x 44.5mm.
Along with support for one PCI card, the unit is also
fitted with a highly reliable 150 Watt ATX power-factor-corrected
(PFC) power supply.
The Rack-1U 200, measuring 431mm x 200mm x 44.5mm uses
the same power supply as the Rack-1U 360 and can accommodate
the EPIA mini-ITX mainboard, hard disk drive, and PCI
card. The Rack-1U 200 and 360 both also support the
new VIA EPIA CL10000 and the fanless VIA EPIA ME6000
and VIA EPIA CL6000E mainboards.

generation 17cm x 17cm platform optimized for today's
killer digital video and audio applications, and is
compatible with Microsoft Windows 2K/ME/XP and a variety

1GHz VIA C3® processor with enhanced digital media
performance, and the VIA UniChrome CLE266 chipset with
an embedded MPEG-2 decoder and the integrated UniChrome
2D/3D graphics core, the VIA EPIA M10000 platform provides
smooth DVD playback and a rich overall entertainment
experience.
With the sizable memory bandwidth of DDR266 SDRAM and
the high data transfer speeds of ATA/133, the VIA EPIA
M10000 ensures the high performance levels required
of today's most popular digital media and productivity
applications. The user's digital media experience is
further enhanced by support for 5.1 surround sound,
courtesy of the onboard VIA Vinyl Six-TRAC audio. The
latest in high-bandwidth connectivity is supported with
IEEE1394 and USB 2.0 connections provided, as well as
S-Video and RCA TV-Out (NTSC & PAL) and 10/100 Fast
Ethernet for seamless broadband connectivity. The VIA
EPIA M10000 also offers support for the latest LVDS
embedded LCD panels, has one PCI slot for expandability
options, and is compatible with a full range of Mini-ITX
chassis as well as FlexATX and MicroATX enclosures.
