VIA Awards CyberScrub Professional Edition 3.5 First
Ever PadLock Certification for Third Party Security Software
New VIA PadLock Certification Program provides in-house
testing and support in optimizing security software for
the VIA PadLock Hardware Security Suite
Taipei, Taiwan, 18 May 2004 - VIA Technologies, Inc,

and PC platform solutions, today announced the launch
of the VIA Padlock Certification Program with CyberScrub
Professional Edition 3.5 as the first third party security
software to be certified by VIA.
The VIA PadLock Certification program is the latest development
in the VIA PadLock Security Initiative, and is designed
to assist independent software developers in optimizing
their products for the on-die security features integrated
into the latest VIA processors. A dedicated team of VIA
engineers, in collaboration with CyberScrub developers,
carried out the testing and optimization of the CyberScrub
Professional 3.5 Edition to ensure maximum benefit from
the VIA PadLock Hardware Security Suite.
Consisting of on-die security features, the VIA PadLock
Hardware Security Suite can take on much of the heavy
lifting work associated with securing electronic information.
By integrating support for the VIA PadLock Hardware Security
Suite, software developers can speed-up certain operations
within security programs while reducing the workload on
the processor. As a result, the processor can get on with
entertainment and productivity tasks, boosting overall
system performance and helping to deliver a better user
experience.
