Digeo, Tranquil, and Autocom leverage the high levels of integration
and low power consumption of VIA Processor Platforms to enable new
ways for consumers to enjoy digital media content at home or on the

New York, NY, 13 October 2004, - VIA Technologies, Inc, a leading
innovator and developer of silicon chip technologies and PC platform
solutions, today announced that it will demonstrate a wide array
of Personal Electronics systems at the ShowStoppers event on Thursday
14th October during Digital Life 2004.
Ranging from the Lafayette MediaReady4000, Tranquil Media Center
and Moxi™ Digital Media Center, to the CarPC Mediabox Telematics
system from Autocom, these innovative Personal Electronics devices
leverage the advanced digital media performance and low power consumption
of highly integrated VIA processor platforms to redefine digital
home and automobile entertainment.
“The hardware requirements of Personal Electronics systems differ
significantly from those of traditional PCs in that ease of use,
quiet operation and stylish design are as important to the consumer
as performance of digital media applications,” said Tim Handley,
Processor Platform Marketing Manager, VIA Technologies, Inc. “At
this year’s ShowStoppers event in New York we will demonstrate how
various industry leaders have used the unique features built into
VIA processor platforms to create innovative products that combine
hardware, software and online services to cater for the diverse needs
of the consumer market.”
Lafayette MediaReady4000
Based on the VIA C3® processor and the VIA CLE266 Digital Media Chipset,
the Lafayette MediaReady4000 from Video Without Boundaries (OTCBB:
VDWB),
features the Linux-based Media Convergence Software Suite (MCSS)
from C.A.C. Media that can stream various types of content from online
service providers or play back media from a DVD, USB 2.0 device or
files stored on its hard drive.
The MediaReady4000 will also be on show in the Digital Village
at Digital Life from 14th to 17th October 2004. “The Lafayette MediaReady4000
is the ultimate all-in-one convergence device that offers an unmatched
range of capabilities to the connected user,” commented Jeffrey Harrell,
President and CEO of Video Without Boundaries, Inc. “ShowStoppers
and Digital Life provide an excellent opportunity for us to demonstrate
our total solution with VIA and C.A.C. Media.”
"Driving the demand for convergent devices is the consumers’
desire to utilize their systems for digital media that is available
over the Internet in addition to traditional consumer electronics
applications." added Ken Nelson, President, C.A.C. Media. “We
believe the VWB’s MediaREADY line of products based on VIA processors
will soon set the standard for the Media Center category.”
Tranquil Media Center
Featuring near silent operation, the Tranquil Media Center incorporates
the forthcoming VIA EPIA SP13000 Mini-ITX mainboard and runs the
Windows® XP Media Center Edition operating system while boasting
an aesthetically pleasing design that will be at home in any standard

“ShowStoppers is the ideal event to preview the Tranquil Media
Center as the fourth generation fanless system from Tranquil PC,”
said David Thompson, CEO of Tranquil PC. “With the added performance
of the new VIA EPIA SP13000 we are able to extend the capabilities
of our systems to more applications in the fast emerging digital
entertainment markets.”

Moxi™ Media Center from Digeo, which takes home entertainment to
the next level with its highly intuitive user interface and high
